The LGB 2040 is the original steam locomotive from LGB's G-scale “Stainz” series, released in 1968. Although later renamed the 2021 series, the original 2040 model is known as the first of the popular “Stainz” line, based on a 1923 Krauss locomotive. It was a successful model and the locomotive that helped LGB develop into a major player in the model train market.
